  1. The Bishop Swine Says:

The importance of Throbbing Gristle is out of all proportion with the music inside the packaging. T.G. do not pretend to be great musical performers, but the ideas they get across are almost universally understood. Of course admitting that you are a party to the joke is in itself fruitful a cathartic mocking of our pretensions. like thistles in your hands or a blooded knee, the shock of reality, can either be an inspiration to live life to its full, or the beginning of a lifelong exile in the cotton wool of security, the safe life is always less inspired. T.G. Records are worth a spin but it will be the packaging that will forever be burnt into your minds eye. More important as a statement, than any other band of their era…later efforts tend to get better, some of Cosi’s pop tunes are worthy of covering.
You owe it to yourself to own at least one T.G. Recording in which case why not start with 20 jazz funk greats…gloriously wicked…
